Indonesian national team defender Jay Idzes ended his weekend on a positive note. Idzes was trusted to start from the first minute as Sassuolo faced Lazio in the third week of the 2025/2026 Serie A season.

Playing at Mapei Stadium on Sunday (14/9/2025) night WIB, Idzes completed the full 90 minutes. His contribution helped I Neroverdi secure a narrow 1-0 victory over Maurizio Sarri’s side.

The only goal of the match was scored by Alieu Fadera in the 70th minute, which was enough for Fabio Grosso’s men to claim their first three points of the Serie A campaign.

Idzes delivered a solid performance in this match. Partnering with Tarik Muharemovic, the 25-year-old defender made eight defensive contributions. FotMob gave the former Venezia player a rating of 7.1.

Sassuolo Escape Relegation Threat
The three points are crucial for Sassuolo as they move away from the relegation zone. They now sit 14th in the standings with three points.

On the other hand, this result extended Lazio’s poor run. Ivan Provedel and his teammates dropped to 13th with the same number of points, three, but have already suffered two defeats from their opening three games — a start far from their ambitions to fight at the top.
