Call for Indonesia’s Strong Response

Indonesia’s Parliamentary Commission I has urged the government to take a firm stance regarding Israel’s reported plan to forcibly relocate Palestinian residents from Gaza. The demand comes amid growing concerns that such measures could escalate the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the territory.

According to Commission I members, the forced relocation policy not only violates international law but also adds to the suffering of Palestinians who have long endured blockades and Israeli military aggression.

Indonesia’s Role in Defending Palestine

The Commission emphasized that Indonesia, as a nation consistently supporting Palestinian independence, must not remain silent. The government is expected to strongly oppose Israel’s move in international forums such as the UN and OIC, urging the global community to put greater pressure on Israel.

“Indonesia must firmly defend the rights of the Palestinian people and reject any form of forced relocation by Israel,” a Commission I member stated.

Worsening Humanitarian Conditions

Israel’s relocation plan is feared to worsen the humanitarian situation in Gaza. Thousands of Palestinians have already lost their homes due to airstrikes and ground assaults since October 2023. Forced displacement would only prolong the suffering and create a new wave of refugees.
