
The first trading session on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, saw a collective rally of Prajogo Pangestu’s business group. Shares of Barito Pacific Group, spanning renewable energy to petrochemicals, surged together, supporting the market index.
The Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) closed higher by 0.28 percent or 21.85 points at 7,969.89, with a transaction value of IDR 8.3 trillion. The rupiah stood at IDR 16,426 per US dollar.
Among the highlights, PT Petrosea Tbk (PTRO) jumped 8.11 percent to IDR 4,530 per share with transactions worth IDR 715.4 billion. Over the past week, this mining contractor stock has soared 30 percent after three consecutive days of gains.
PT Barito Pacific Tbk (BRPT) rose 5.60 percent to IDR 2,450, PT Barito Renewables Energy Tbk (BREN) gained 1.13 percent to IDR 8,975, and PT Chandra Asri Pacific Tbk (TPIA) added 0.93 percent to IDR 8,100.
By sector, the basic industry index led with a 4.01 percent gain, followed by technology at 1.93 percent and healthcare at 1.43 percent. On the other hand, major banking stocks like BBCA, BMRI, and ANTM weakened, leaving IHSG supported mainly by second-tier issuers, especially from Prajogo Pangestu’s group.
Earlier, IHSG opened flat at 7,964.88, slightly up 0.09 percent. During the session, the index moved between 7,960.67 and 7,971.60. Trading volume reached 5.07 million lots worth IDR 444.49 billion through 40,260 transactions.
Foreign investors recorded a net sell of IDR 374.55 billion across markets, while still posting a net buy of IDR 18.46 billion in cash and negotiated markets.
Other top movers included PT Koka Indonesia Tbk (KOKA) rising 34.31 percent, PT Tanah Laut Tbk (INDX) climbing 22.35 percent, PT Sinergi Multi Lestarindo Tbk (SMLE) advancing 20.18 percent, PT Mineral Sumberdaya Mandiri Tbk (AKSI) up 17.86 percent, and PT Pelangi Indah Canindo Tbk (PICO) growing 12.39 percent.
Meanwhile, some stocks entered the top losers list, such as PT Ancora Indonesia Resources Tbk (OKAS) down 14.77 percent, PT Dwi Guna Laksana Tbk (DWGL) falling 14.44 percent, PT Voksel Electric Tbk (VOKS) weakening 10.75 percent, PT Indomobil Multi Jasa Tbk (IMJS) losing 5.22 percent, and PT Centratama Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk (CENT) declining 4.32 percent.
