Chelsea secured a crucial away victory after beating Crystal Palace 3-1 at Selhurst Park in Matchweek 23 of the Premier League. The result lifted The Blues into the top four of the league standings.

The match began with early pressure from the hosts, as Jean Philippe Mateta tested Robert Sanchez, who made a vital save to keep Chelsea level. After surviving the early scare, Chelsea gradually took control of the game.

The opening goal arrived in the 34th minute through a moment of brilliance from Estevao. The Brazilian youngster capitalized on a defensive error before calmly finishing past Dean Henderson. Chelsea went into halftime with a one-goal advantage.

Chelsea started the second half strongly and doubled their lead five minutes after the restart. Joao Pedro finished confidently inside the penalty area after receiving a precise pass from Estevao. The visitors extended their lead further when Enzo Fernandez converted a penalty following a handball by Jaydee Canvot.

Crystal Palace’s problems deepened when Adam Wharton was sent off after receiving his second yellow card. Despite being reduced to ten men, Palace managed to score a late consolation goal through Chris Richards.

Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior praised his team’s intensity and work rate but admitted disappointment at conceding late and missing out on a clean sheet. Nevertheless, the victory marked another important step for Chelsea in their push for a strong league finish.
