Manchester – Manchester United is showing serious intent in pursuing Brentford striker Bryan Mbeumo. After having two bids rejected, the Red Devils have now submitted a third offer with a higher valuation in hopes of sealing the transfer before their pre-season tour in the United States.
MU had already reached personal terms with Mbeumo last month. However, they have yet to agree on a transfer fee with Brentford. The first bid of £45 million plus £10 million in add-ons was rejected, as was the second offer of £55 million with a £7.5 million bonus.
Brentford believes Mbeumo deserves a valuation at least on par with Matheus Cunha, who joined Wolverhampton for £62.5 million. As a result, negotiations stalled, nearly prompting MU to drop their interest.
According to The Athletic, MU has now raised their bid to £65 million, approximately Rp 1.4 trillion, plus an additional £5 million in performance-related bonuses.
MU is aiming to complete the deal swiftly before flying out to the U.S. next week. Tottenham Hotspur, now managed by former Brentford boss Thomas Frank, also showed interest in Mbeumo, but the player reportedly turned down their initial approach.
If completed, this move would mark MU's second summer signing after acquiring Matheus Cunha.
