CF Montreal broke their four-match winless run with a 3-1 victory over the New England Revolution on Friday night, thanks to goals from Prince Owusu, Dante Sealy, and Olger Escobar.
Montreal (4-15-6), which held the lowest point total in the MLS heading into the match, finally found form. Sealy netted the go-ahead goal in the 36th minute after a clever assist from Caden Clark, marking his fourth assist of the season — tying his career best.
Owusu leveled the score in the ninth minute with an impressive finish, marking his seventh goal in eight recent matches. Escobar, making just his fourth career appearance, secured his first-ever MLS goal during stoppage time.
New England (6-11-7) continues its rough patch, winless in six games and losing five. Despite an early strike from Tomás Chancalay in the third minute — his second consecutive game scoring — the Revolution couldn’t maintain their lead.
Goalkeeper Jonathan Sirois delivered a crucial save in the 53rd minute to deny Chancalay again, while Joel Waterman blocked a potential equalizer near the goal line late in the game. New England's Brayan Ceballos missed the match due to yellow card accumulation.
