Jakarta – President Prabowo Subianto has officially dismissed Immanuel Ebenezer, known as Noel, from his position as Deputy Minister of Manpower after the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) named him a suspect in an extortion case involving K3 certification.

The dismissal was signed directly by President Prabowo following Noel’s status as a corruption suspect. “The President has signed the decree dismissing Immanuel Ebenezer from his role as Deputy Minister of Manpower,” said State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi on Friday (August 22, 2025).

Deputy Chairman of Commission IX of the House of Representatives, Charles Honoris, expressed concern over the case, stressing that such extortion practices harm the business climate and economic growth. He hoped Noel’s successor would uphold professionalism and integrity in labor governance.

Prasetyo also clarified that Noel’s dismissal does not automatically mean a cabinet reshuffle. The Deputy Minister’s seat could be filled temporarily before a permanent replacement is appointed.

The KPK has named 11 suspects, including Noel and several Ministry of Manpower officials, along with private parties from PT KEM Indonesia.

KPK Chairman Setyo Budiyanto stated that Noel not only knew about the extortion but also allowed it and allegedly demanded a share. In addition to Rp3 billion in cash, Noel is suspected of receiving a Ducati motorcycle. All suspects are currently detained at KPK’s Red and White Building detention center.
