The rumor about a salary increase and back-pay for retired civil servants scheduled for 1 November 2025 has been circulating widely. Discussions have flooded the Instagram comments on the official account of PT Taspen, creating high expectations among retired PNS. In response, Taspen issued a firm clarification. On its official Instagram account, Taspen stated that there is currently no official regulation from the government that sets a salary or allowance increase for retired civil servants. “Hello Taspen friends, currently there is no official regulation from the government regarding a salary or allowance increase for pensioners,” their post read on 28 October.
This surge of rumours coincides with the prior year’s 12 percent raise for active PNS under Peraturan Pemerintah Nomor 8 Tahun 2024, and the 2025 wage increase deliberation for active ASN. However, when it comes to pensioners, no directive has been issued yet.
Regarding the new regulation Peraturan Presiden Nomor 79 Tahun 2025 signed on 30 June 2025, Taspen emphasized this decree only covers active civil servants, not retirees. Therefore, the salary and allowance for retired PNS until 1 November 2025 will still adhere to PP No. 8 of 2024, meaning claims of a raise or special back-pay for November are unsupported.
Retired civil servants are advised to always rely on official sources, such as Taspen or relevant government agencies, to avoid being misled by unverified information.
